Operationally, it is as good as my old one - no problems at all. The worst thing I can say about this Bluetooth adapter is that it is so small you can easily lose it. Nice piece of equipment. And was about half the price. But the point to it is that you plug it in to your laptop and leave it there. Since it doesn't stick out, it won't get broken off when you put the machine into the case, or bang it against the wall at StarBucks.
This works great but needed a little hand holding to install, could not use software provided for bluetooth blackberry connection, needed help to install.
I just plugged it into the USB adapter, Windows Vista found it right away, and within 15 seconds I had paired my wireless mouse. If you want a small adapter that will work instantly, get this one.Note: I haven't really tested the range, because, as I mentioned, I bought it for using with a Bluetooth mouse, so I don't expect to be more than a few inches from the adapter. I purchased this Bluetooth adapter for using a wireless Bluetooth mouse with my ThinkPad laptop. No problems whatsoever --- this adapter performed and looked exactly the way I thought it would. Some reviews on here seem to indicate that the range is not as large as expected, but it still seems like you get a decent range (at least 30 feet, which is big enough to cover my entire apartment). In hindsight, I would have gotten a built-in Bluetooth adapter, but since I didn't, I wanted something that was as inobtrusive as possible. This was the smallest adapter I could find --- you'll barely notice it sticking out of a USB port.It also worked flawlessly from the first plug-in.
Other than that it has been a breeze to use and I would recommend it to folks whose laptop does not have a Bluetooth option. The software they sent didn't read on my drive so I just downloaded it from the site. Bought this product about 2 months ago and have been using it without any problems. I did not give it 5 because well I don't view it as a necessity, I use it with Skype and regular listening on my laptop without any problems, the range is very good and it even allows me to sync with my Treo without wires (when I figure it out).
I suggest using the device with another bluetooth stack or using the integrated windows bluetooth that is included with xp service pack 3 or vista. I would suggest this product for someone who has considerable knowledge using bluetooth devices. The Toshiba bluetooth stack and software that is included is not very user friendly.
